I Love a Parade

Olde Fashioned Fun

Week 3 of community exploration brought us to Yardley's Olde Fashion Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 3, 2016. A first for me, I wasn't sure just what to expect, but, aside from the biting wind, it was an otherwise perfect day of family fun!

Girls Day Out...

We started with some Cheese Ravioli and a Meatball Sub at Vince's Pizza, and stopped in to Cairo Cakes for a little dessert - our first visit, but certainly not our last! Next, we headed down Main Street to Weichert Realtor's Open House. They sure did a great job of welcoming the community with free popcorn and balloons outside, and tons of sweet treats, coffee and cocoa inside.

Finally, the Parade began...

The parade started at 3:30 and lasted about an hour, drawing a nice crowd. My daughter was thrilled by the candy tossed to kids by the local businesses that participated. But her very favorite gifts were the boxing glove key tag from CKO Kickboxing in Yardley, and a lovely Christmas music box from realtor Jill Small at Weichert.

A Happy Ending...

All in all, it was a fun family day. The local businesses seemed to have great community spirit and truly enjoy the parade. Neighbors got to mingle, and kids made new friends. Once again, I asked myself, "How have I lived here so long and missed such a cool event?". Thanks to everyone that made it so fun & festive ! Until next time...

Enjoy!-
